Kevin Tong is in his 16th year as head athletic trainer at Defiance College. Tong has primary responsibilities for football, men’s basketball, outdoor track, golf and tennis.

Prior to coming to DC, he was on the athletic training staff of the Tampa Bay Mutiny of Major League Soccer.

A native of Athens, Ohio, Tong graduated from Ohio University with a B.S. in athletic training while serving as a student-assistant for various sports including football and baseball.

After completing his degree, he was employed by Wagner College (N.Y.) as an assistant trainer from 1995-1997 while earning his master’s degree in education.

Tong is also an assistant professor in DC’s Athletic Training Education program. He and his wife, Kelly, reside in Defiance with their three sons, Cameron, Owen and Ian and daughter, Paige.
