Grant Russo joined the Yellow Jackets’ coaching staff as a graduate assistant for the cross country and track and field teams in January, 2010, and is entering his second season working with the Defiance College runners.

Russo graduated from Denison University in 2009 with a degree in biology, and spent four years as a member of DU’s cross country and track and field teams. He was a four-year letterwinner and standout performer for the Big Red, earning four-consecutive All-North Coast Athletic Conference selections. Russo was named the NCAC Runner of the Year in 2008, after setting the conference’s championship meet record in the 8k and qualifying for the NCAA Div. III National Championships.

As a member of the Yellow Jackets’ coaching staff, Russo works with athletes primarily in mid to long-distance events, while pursuing a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in leadership.
