Kaycee Butt will begin her stint as an assistant coach for the Defiance College softball program for the 2011-2012 year, after concluding her playing career with the Yellow Jackets.

Butt graduated from Defiance College in May with a degree in sport management and rounded out her playing career on the softball field with the Purple and Gold. During her playing time with the Jackets, Butt helped the team to Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Championships in 2008 and 2009 and earned All-HCAC accolades during her senior campaign in 2011.

Butt also served on the Defiance College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for three years, was a four-time recipient of the DC Achievement Scholarship Award and spent four years with the school’s Citizen Leader Scholarship Program, logging over 200 hours of community service per year.

The outstanding work on the field, in the classroom and in the community does not overshadow Butt’s coaching background. The Hilliard, Ohio native gained valuable experience while assisting with a variety of softball camps and fall leagues hosted by Defiance College over the past four years.

Along with her coaching duties, Butt will work towards a master’s degree in education from Defiance College.
