The 2012 campaign is the fourth for Jon McCord on the DC coaching staff, after patrolling the sidelines for the Jackets in 2006 and again in 2010 and 2011. McCord specializes with the defensive backs for Defiance.

McCord was a four-year starter and two-time captain at Iona College in New York and earned a degree in criminal justice, before beginning his coaching career at Ayersville High. During his time with the Pilots, McCord worked with the defensive backs, prior to assuming the defensive coordinator position in his second season.

McCord is the son of DC’s special teams coordinator, Craig McCord.
