DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College has announced that former DC student-athlete and current ESPN and CBS analyst, Rich Zvosec, will be the honorary guest speaker at its 37th-Annual Student-Athlete Honors Banquet on April 25. The event is held at the Karl H. Weaner Community Center beginning at 6:00 pm.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College football program has announced that it will be hosting a golf outing on May 8. The event will be held at the Auglaize Golf Club and will be open to anyone wanting to help support Yellow Jacket football.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College football team completed numerous projects this fall to impact the surrounding community. The list of activities included sending groups to several local camps and to Kid’s Creation, along with participating in the Scrap Metal for Kids program.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College President, Mark C. Gordon, recently announced that Jenni Morrison, who has been serving for this academic year as interim co-athletic director with head baseball coach Derek Woodley, has accepted the full-time role of athletic director for the institution starting July 1.  Until that time, Morrison and Woodley will continue to serve as interim co-directors.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – OhioCollegeFootball.com officials recently announced the 2009 NCAA Division III All-Ohio Teams, with Defiance College’s Tom Foos and Kyle Longsdorf each being honored by the website. Foos garnered First-Team honors, with Longsdorf being named Third-Team All-Ohio.

DEFIANCE, Ohio - Fans in the Defiance County area will have one more chance to watch the Yellow Jackets on television, as TV 26 will show a replay of Defiance's 35-0 season-ending victory against Bluffton. GREENWOOD, Ind. – The 2009 All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Team was announced by the HCAC league office on Wednesday, as voted on by the conference’s eight head coaches. Defiance College placed nine student-athletes among the 91 athletes to receive the award.

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has selected Kyle Longsdorf as its Defensive Player of the Week, after he racked up 22 tackles in Defiance’s 35-0 victory against Bluffton on Saturday at Coressel Stadium.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College sent its 18-man senior class out in style on Saturday by scoring a lopsided, 35-0, win against Bluffton on Senior Day. The 35-point margin of victory was DC’s highest against the Beavers since joining the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in 2000.

CINCINNATI, Ohio – A strong third quarter nearly allowed Defiance to erase a 14-0 halftime deficit at the 27th-ranked Lions of Mount St. Joseph on Saturday, but the Mount held off the rally and escaped with a 24-16 win over the Yellow Jackets.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Hanover Panthers won for only the second time this season and snapped DC’s two-game win streak with a 30-27 victory over the Yellow Jackets at Justin F. Coressel Stadium on Saturday. The loss also snapped a four-game win streak by Defiance against the Panthers on the gridiron.
