COLUMBUS, Ohio – Defiance College’s Kyle Longsdorf capped a competitive 2011 Ohio Army National Guard Senior Bowl victory for his North Team by intercepting a pass in the end zone with 26 seconds left in the game to preserve a 19-16 victory on Saturday.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College has announced that current NFL official, Gary Arthur, will be the honorary guest speaker at its 38th-Annual Student-Athlete Honors Banquet on May 1. The event is hosted by the Purple and Gold Club and held at the Karl H. Weaner Community Center at 6:00 pm.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College seniors Kyle Longsdorf and Tom Foos have been selected to play in the second-annual Ohio National Guard Senior Bowl. The game will be presented by OhioCollegeFootball.com on Saturday, April 23 at Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

MINNEAPOLIS – Defiance College’s senior free safety, Kyle Longsdorf, added an exclamation point to his outstanding 2010 season by becoming the 49th All-American in the history of the DC football program with his D3football.com Third-Team All-American selection.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – OhioCollegeFootball.com unveiled its NCAA Division III All-Ohio Teams on Tuesday, with Kyle Longsdorf, Tom Foos and Brian Baumgart making the list. Longsdorf was named the OCF D-III Co-Defensive Player of the Year, while Foos and Baumgart were each Second-Team All-Ohio nods.

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its fall honorees for the Tom Bohlsen Academic All-HCAC Team with Defiance placing 20 student-athletes on the list. The 20 award winners give DC five more than its 2009 total and seven more than 2008.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Ryan Black has been voted by the Defiance College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as the winner of the SAAC Sportsmanship Award for November. The award is part of the NCAA’s Respect Campaign and is announced throughout the year.

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its Fall All-Sportsmanship Team on Thursday, with eight Yellow Jackets making the list. The award is part of the HCAC’s sportsmanship initiative.

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference released its 2010 Football All-HCAC Team on Wednesday, with 13 Yellow Jackets garnering an all-conference nod. Kyle Longsdorf was voted the HCAC Defensive Most Valuable Player and Tom Foos claimed the HCAC Special Teams MVP.

BLUFFTON, Ohio – Defiance College turned the ball over five times at Bluffton on Saturday afternoon and could not overcome a 21-0 deficit. The eventual 21-16 loss to close the 2010 season snapped a five-game win streak for the Jackets and a two game streak over the Beavers.

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Kyle Longsdorf blocked a field goal as time expired in regulation to force overtime between Defiance and Muskingum after the Jackets had rallied from a 10-0 halftime deficit. DC could not complete the rally however, as the Muskies prevailed, 19-13, in two overtime periods.

The duo will assist Morrison in day-to-day duties, while also helping with game management for DC’s home athletics events.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College and head coach Rob Taylor have announced the hiring of Chuck Ehret and Nubis Padhye to join the football coaching staff. Ehret will serve as the offensive line coach, while Padhye will be the quarterbacks coach. Taylor will take over the role of offensive coordinator to complete the makeover on the sidelines for the Purple and Gold.
