DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College football and volleyball programs will team up with the Vera Bradley Foundation to host a pair of “Pink Out” events on October 23 and 24. All proceeds raised from the weekend will go directly towards the fight against breast cancer and the Vera Bradley Foundation.

The weekend will kick-off on Saturday at 1:30 pm when Defiance hosts Anderson in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference football clash. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game to show their support for the fight against breast cancer.

Fans will also be able to meet with Catherine Hill from the Vera Bradley Foundation and participate in raffles for a Vera Bradley item and a Mary Kay basket. There will also be a cookout following the football game with pulled pork donated from Scotty’s 111. Fans planning to attend the cookout are asked to bring something to share.

The weekend will then continue on Sunday, as the DC volleyball team hosts Rose-Hulman in a league contest beginning at noon. Fans are asked to wear pink to the match and there will be opportunities to make donations to the Vera Bradley Foundation.
