Beachy and Boveington Join DC Athletics Administrative Staff
DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College athletics director, Jenni Morrison, has announced the hiring of Hillary Beachy and Brian Boveington as athletics administration graduate assistants. The duo will assist Morrison in day-to-day duties, while also helping with game management for DC’s home athletics events. Beachy earned degrees in sports management, marketing and business administration from Ursuline College, where she interned in the athletics department during her senior year. Beachy also gained experience while working in the UC business office and interning with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. Along with her professional experiences, Beachy excelled in the classroom and on the softball field at Ursuline. The Dean’s List and President’s List scholar, was named Academic All-America three times and was a member of Ursuline’s Leadership Program. Beachy captained her softball team in each of her final two seasons and was named first-team all-region. “I am so excited to be a part of the Defiance College Athletics Department,” stated Beachy. “I am grateful that Jenni has given me this amazing opportunity so that I can learn and become even more engaged in collegiate athletics. These next two years are going to be a great learning experience and I am definitely looking forward to them.” Beachy’s primary responsibilities will include overseeing compliance and game management duties, while working towards a master’s degree in business administration from DC. Boveington came to DC from Baldwin-Wallace, where he majored in sports management and minored in business management and athletic coaching. The three-time varsity baseball letterman interned with the Baldwin-Wallace SAAC during his final three semesters. Boveington’s accomplishments at B-W also include being named as a Distinguished Leader, serving as a First Year Student-Athlete Orientation Leader and becoming a member of the Graduate Assistant Recruitment Committee. “I am excited to be here at Defiance College and am looking forward to working with the staff and the student-athletes here. I hope that DC will be a good starting point for my career.” Boveington will be primarily responsible for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and game management, while also assisting Morrison in other day-to-day tasks. Boveington will also be enrolled in graduate school at Defiance, with the hopes of earning a master’s degree in business administration. ##### |
