DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College Athletic Media Relations Department, in partnership with Streamline Technologies, officially launched a brand new athletic website on Thursday. DefianceAthletics.com will be the new home for DC’s 18 varsity athletic programs and will provide the Yellow Jacket teams with more extensive coverage than ever before.

Along with the fresh look, the new site will present several new features to increase the enjoyment of DC fans as they follow their favorite teams and players throughout the year. One new feature is the Yellow Jacket Spotlight, which will showcase a different senior student-athlete on a semi-weekly basis to allow DC fans to get to know the athlete beyond the box score.

The site will also offer a scrolling scoreboard, easy to find league standings and upcoming events, rotating top stories, changing action photos in the header, improved highlight video capabilities and much more.

Many of the favorites from Defiance’s old site have also found a place on DC’s new home. The athletic honors pages, consolidated camps page, action photo albums and archived stories and stats sections will all be available on the new site.

The new home will be put to use almost immediately, as Defiance is set to begin the 2008-2009 athletic year on Friday. The men’s and women’s soccer programs will be hosting the DC Classic at newly renovated Winsper-Knobel Memorial Field, while the volleyball team opens play in the Kalamazoo Hornet Invitational.
