DEFIANCE, Ohio – Head Coach Kyle Brumett recently sat down with the voices of the Yellow Jackets Sports Network, Jim Funderburg and Jim Bellamy, to review the 2009-2010 campaign for the DC men’s basketball team. The Jackets posted a 23-6 record, won the Heartland Conference Tournament and participated in the NCAA National Tournament.

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced its winter honorees for the Tom Bohlsen Academic All-HCAC Team. Defiance College placed two student-athletes on the list to raise its 2009-2010 total to 17 entering the spring seasons.

WOOSTER, Ohio – Defiance College saw a six-point lead slip away in the final two minutes of Friday’s NCAA National Tournament game with No. 8 UW-Whitewater on the campus of Wooster. The Warhawks ended the game on a 10-0 spurt to hand DC a crushing, 75-71 defeat.

DC finished second in the HCAC Preseason Poll and placed four on the HCAC Players-to-Watch list.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Former Defiance College standout center, Anthony Pettaway, has recently signed a contract to begin his professional career on the hardwood. The three-time All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference player will take his game overseas to compete for the Dachau Spurs of Germany’s Regionalliga South-East League.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College athletic family was saddened by the loss of Gerry Boomer on Monday, July 6. Boomer graduated Cum Laude from DC in 1969 and had been an avid supporter and friend to many in the athletic program over the past 40 years.
