DEFIANCE, Ohio – Along with hosting Bluffton University for a key rivalry showdown on the hardwood on Wednesday night, Defiance College will also be playing a role to help win a larger battle. DC will be participating in the Suits and Sneakers program in an effort to raise funds and awareness in the ongoing fight against cancer.

Head Coach Kyle Brumett and his staff will join coaches from across the country in wearing sneakers on the sidelines during Wednesday’s game. The act is a visible show of support for cancer awareness, treatment and early detection, as lacing up sneakers symbolizes the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

All fans in attendance are encouraged to join in the Coaches vs. Cancer program by wearing sneakers to the game. Donations will also be accepted and all proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.

Coaches vs. Cancer is a collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches that engages coaches, teams, communities and businesses nationwide to help save lives and make a real difference in the fight against this disease.
