DEFIANCE, Ohio – Three years after completing his standout career on the hardwood at Defiance College, All-American Anthony Pettaway is showcasing his talents for the SC Rist Wedel franchise in Germany’s ProB League. Pettaway started his time in Germany in the Regionalliga South-East League, after signing with the Dachau Spurs following his graduation from Defiance College in 2009. Since that time, the Toledo, Ohio, native has moved to the 25-team ProB League for the current 2011-2012 campaign and ranked 10th in the league in scoring through the first 16 contests of the year with 18.6 points per game. Pettaway currently leads the team in scoring and ranks second on the roster with 30:13 minutes and 7.7 rebounds per night, while shooting at a 55.9-percent clip from the field. The former three-time All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference performer has paced Wedel in points six times during the 2011-2012 season and has led the squad in rebounding in seven-of-16 contests. Pettaway capped his outstanding four-year career with the Yellow Jackets with 1,477 points, 767 rebounds and 617 field goals. Those numbers still rank Pettaway 11th in scoring, seventh in rebounding and sixth in made field goals in DC’s program history. Pettaway and Wedel (6-10) have 10 games remaining in the regular season, with the final contest slated for February 25. ##### |
