DEFIANCE, Ohio - The floor inside the 84,000-square foot George M. Smart Athletic Center is installed and the lines were finished Thursday. The Smart Fitness Center will be moved in and open inside the facility as the Buchman Fitness Center on February 13, with the entire facility projected to be open by late February.

N. MANCHESTER, Ind. – Mike Ross (79-81) and Brian Jones (83-77) both carded a total score of 160 to lead the Defiance College men’s golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Manchester Invitational. As a team, the Yellow Jackets carded a final score of 646 (325-321) over two rounds.

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – Defiance’s Brian Jones finished in seventh-place overall to lead the Yellow Jackets to a fourth-place finish at the Kenyon Invitational, held at Mount Vernon Country Club. Defiance posted a team score of 684 (339-345) over the two-day event.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Senior Brian Jones fired a 77 at the Defiance College Invitational to claim 12th-place overall on Sunday. Jones and the rest of the Jackets posted a team score of 333 to finish in 8th place at the event.

As part of the festivities, the building was officially named the George M. Smart Athletic Center.

WAUSEON, Ohio – Defiance College sophomore Mike Ross earned all-tournament team honors at the Jon Spiess Memorial Tournament with round of 77 to lead the Yellow Jackets to a fifth-place overall finish.
