Men’s Golf Takes Fourth at Kenyon Invitational

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – Defiance’s Brian Jones finished in seventh-place overall to lead the Yellow Jackets to a fourth-place finish at the Kenyon Invitational, held at Mount Vernon Country Club. Defiance posted a team score of 684 (339-345) over the two-day event. Jones led the squad with a total score of 163 (78-85). Mike Ross ended the tournament with a final tally of 167 (79-88). Hurst Talbott and Jared James shot 174 and 180, respectively. Rounding out the scoring for DC was Matt Gehring with a 184 (93-91). Capital University captured the team title with a team score of 637 (315-322). Capital’s Clay Rice took medalist honors with a score of 150 (74-76). Defiance will return to the links on Saturday, October 1st, where it will conclude its fall season at the Manchester Invitational. <><><><> |
