DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College hosted its inaugural Midwest Lacrosse Conference opening game on Saturday afternoon, as the Yellow Jackets faced Aurora University. The Spartans dominated the game and won by a final score of 30-1.

Aurora jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, as the squad found the back of the net 10 times in the first 15 minutes of the game. The Spartans tacked on seven more goals in the second quarter to take a 17-0 lead into the half.

The Purple and Gold’s Jesse Bailey scored Defiance’s lone goal of the day in the third period, as the freshman struck for his eighth goal of the season. Bailey leads all Defiance College scorers on the season with eight goals in just six games played.

The Spartans added 13-second half goals to cruise to a 30-1 victory. The loss drops the Yellow Jackets overall record to 0-7 and 0-1 in MLC play. DC is back on the field on Sunday, as the team hosts Augustana College in a 1:00 p.m. start.
