Men's Swimming and Diving Falls on the Road to Urbana

URBANA, Ohio – The Defiance College men’s swimming and diving squad continued its season after a two week break for Thanksgiving. The Yellow Jackets traveled to Urbana University on Saturday afternoon and fell to the Blue Knights by a total score of 91-42.

The Jackets claimed two first place finishes in the water at Urbana. Freshmen swimmers William Johns and Dylan Textor were each victorious. Johns placed first in the 100-yard butterfly event with a time of 1:12.21. Textor also earned the Purple and Gold nine points in the 100-yard breastroke with his win. Textor’s time in the event was 1:10.40.

Other notable performances for DC were Textor’s second place finish in the 1000-yard freestyle, Ben Werbiskis’s runner-up performance in the 100-yard backstroke and Jacob Stuber finishing second in the 100-yard freestyle. The Jackets’ relay team also claimed second in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Defiance is next in action on Saturday, December 10 when the Jackets travel to Ohio Northern for its second Ohio Athletic Conference matchup of the season. The meet is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
