Defiance Falls to OAC Powerhouse Ohio Northern

ADA, Ohio – The Defiance College men’s swimming and diving team fell to Ohio Northern University on Saturday by a score of 247-33. Ohio Northern is a perennial elite program in the Ohio Athletic Conference. Despite being outperformed for most of the afternoon, the Yellow Jackets picked up a victory against the Polar Bears. Freshman swimmer Dylan Textor turned in an impressive performance in the 200-yard freestyle. Textor’s time in the event was 1:53.03 which was his personal. Textor won the event by over seven seconds. Freshman Ben Werbiskis compiled a pair of third place finishes in the 50-yard breaststroke and the 50-yard freestyle. The Yellow Jackets now have a month long break for Christmas and New Year’s. The Purple and Gold is next in action on Saturday, January 14, 2012 when it heads to Wooster. The meet is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m. |
