AKRON, Ohio – Freshman swimmer Dylan Textor led the DC men’s swimming team to a solid day two performance at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships. On the day, the three-man Defiance squad earned 19 points, nearly tripling its point total from the beginning of the day.

For the second straight day, every Yellow Jacket performance in the preliminary round was an individual personal record. Of those performances, three earned the Jackets an opportunity to compete in the night session.

Textor followed up his top eight finish in the 500-yard freestyle on day one with an eighth place finish in the 200-yard freestyle on day two. The freshman recorded a time of 1:47.37 in the finals, which earned the team 11 points.

Freshmen Ben Werbiskis and William Johns also scored points for the Purple and Gold in day two. Werbiskis placed fourth in the B-Final and twelth overall in the 100-yard breaststroke with a mark of 1:03.29. This time is the fastest of the season for Werbiskis in the event. Johns competed in the 100-yard butterfly and finished 14th overall with a personal best time of 1:06.80.

The Yellow Jackets’ first ever season winds to a close on Saturday as the squad competes in day three of the OAC Championships. The meet is set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
