DEFIANCE, Ohio – Along with getting a summer clinic schedule in place, the Defiance College men's and women's tennis program will now be hosting the 2013 DC Open. The event will take place at the E. Stevens Dix Tennis Facility on the campus of Defiance College and is slated for July 12 through July 14.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – With the warmth and sunshine of summer ahead, the Purple and Gold tennis program will be hosting four clinics in the upcoming months. They are open to players of any age and any ability levels and will be conducted at the E. Stevens Dix Tennis Facility.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Juniors Mike Ross and Cord Speelman were recognized by the coaches in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference on Tuesday for their strong play during the 2013 men’s tennis season at Defiance. The two were named All-HCAC Honorable Mention.

INDIANAPOLIS – The Defiance College men’s tennis team traveled to Indianapolis to face the Franklin Grizzlies in the opening round of the HCAC Tournament in the six versus three matchup. The Jackets were outmatched by the higher-seeded Franklin squad, as DC lost by a final of 5-0.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College men’s tennis team played its final match of the regular season on Saturday morning, as the squad hosted Hanover in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup. The Panthers were too strong on this day and defeated DC by a final of 9-0.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – With a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament berth on the line, the Defiance College men’s tennis program came through against arch-rival Bluffton to ensure the Jackets a spot in the postseason. The Purple and Gold easily disposed of the Beavers by a final of 8-1.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – In a make-up match from last week, the Yellow Jacket men’s tennis team hosted Anderson University in a HCAC showdown with major postseason tournament implications. The Purple and Gold stepped up to the challenge and came through with a huge 7-2 win.

N. MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Defiance College men’s tennis team traveled to Manchester University on Monday afternoon for a makeup match that got cancelled last week due to weather. The Jackets escaped its second conference match of the season in a 5-4 win.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Yellow Jacket men’s tennis team traveled to Lexington, Ky. for a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tennis match against Transylvania University on Saturday. The Pioneers outmatched Defiance in a 9-0 win.

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Yellow Jacket tennis squad dropped a road match to Lake Erie College on Thursday afternoon, as the Storm was just too much for the Purple and Gold in a 6-3 non-conference defeat.
