GREENWOOD, Ind. – Senior number one singles and doubles player Trevor Ault received All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference honors for the fourth consecutive season on Tuesday. Ault was voted onto the All-HCAC team by HCAC men’s tennis head coaches.

HANOVER, Ind. – The Defiance College men’s tennis team played its regular season finale on Saturday afternoon on the road against Hanover College. The match was shortened due to rain and DC lost by a score of 5-2.

BLUFFTON, Ohio – Senior number one singles and doubles player Trevor Ault became the winningest player in DC history on Thursday afternoon with wins in singles and doubles against HCAC rival Bluffton University. Defiance blanked the Beavers by a score of 9-0.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College men’s tennis team hosted the Transylvania Pioneers from Lexington, Ky. on Saturday morning in a HCAC matchup. Transylvania kept its HCAC record unblemished on the season with a 6-3 win over the Jackets.

ANDERSON, Ind. – Senior number one singles player Trevor Ault tied his older brother, Tyler for the most victories by any DC men’s tennis player with 102 wins in all competitions. Unfortunately for the Jackets, the win was not enough as Defiance fell to Anderson 5-4.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Senior Trevor Ault became the second ever Yellow Jacket men’s tennis player to eclipse the career 100-win mark on Saturday afternoon with victories in singles and doubles. Defiance defeated Central State in the match by a score of 9-0 for the second time this season.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The DC men’s tennis squad won its second straight match on Tuesday as the Jackets defeated Adrian College at the Dix Tennis Facility by a score of 7-2. The match was the first ever-regular season men’s match that took place at the newly renovated complex.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The DC men’s tennis team won a match and lost a match on Thursday. The Jackets dropped their morning match against Ill. Springfield in the morning session, but bounced back to blank Johnson State by a score of 9-0 in the evening match.

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Jacket men’s tennis team won its first match of the season on Wednesday over Roosevelt University. DC did not drop a set in the victory. In the first match of the day DC lost in a highly competitive contest by a score of 5-4 to Salem State.

The field house, known as The George, will serve as the recreational hub of the DC campus, while offering an indoor training facility for the Jackets’ 22 varsity athletic programs.

DEFIANCE, Ohio - The floor inside the 84,000-square foot George M. Smart Athletic Center is installed and the lines were finished Thursday. The Smart Fitness Center will be moved in and open inside the facility as the Buchman Fitness Center on February 13, with the entire facility projected to be open by late February.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College took another step towards realizing a long-awaited dream of an on-campus field house on Friday, as it highlighted the 2011 Homecoming by dedicating the 85,250-square foot facility. As part of the festivities, the building was officially named the George M. Smart Athletic Center.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The 10th-Annual DC Open Tennis Tournament has been moved from August 12-14 to August 19-21. The change in date is due to construction at the Dix Outdoor Tennis Facility.

DEFIANCE, Ohio - The DCAC construction project has entered a new phase, as the outer mainframe of the 84,000 square-foot facility has been finished. Recent work has included the installing of the facilities outer walls and the laying of the dark red bricks that will line the lower portion of the outside of the field house.

DEFIANCE, Ohio - A recent stretch of long and dry summer days has allowed significant progress to be made on the ongoing construction of DC's new field house. The steel mainframe of the 84,000 square-foot facility is nearly complete and initial work continues on the north extension of the building.

Ground work is also now being done on the north extension of the building, which will house the weight room, athletic training room, Smart Fitness Center, offices and a reception area.
