CLAREMONT, Calif. – Less than 24 hours after placing fourth in the discus at the 2012 NCAA Division III Outdoor Nationals, Tom Postema represented the Defiance College men’s track and field squad once again on Friday, finishing 18th in the hammer throw.

Postema turned in a throw of 52.13 in his first effort, before fouling on each of his next two attempts. The event was won by Pete Delzer of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a toss of 64.05 on his second attempt.

Postema will wrap up his showing at Nationals on Saturday, when he competes in the shot put. The event is slated to begin at 7:05 pm and Postema will enter as the No. 20 seed, after turning in a showing of 16.36 during the final outing of the regular season to punch his ticket to the NCAA Nationals in the event.
