The Smart Fitness Center will be moved in and open inside the facility as the Buchman Fitness Center on February 13, with the entire facility projected to be open by late February.

Recent work has included the installing of the facilities outer walls and the laying of the dark red bricks that will line the lower portion of the outside of the field house.

ADA, Ohio – The men’s track and field team finished second with 151 points at the Polar Bear Invitational on Saturday. DC’s Justin Perkins recorded the fastest 1,000-meter dash time in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference this season with a personal-best time of 2:44.51.

ANGOLA, Ind. – The men’s track and field team finished second at the Trine Invitational on Friday, collecting 159.75 points at the event and falling just 2.50 points shy of the hosting school. Seth Bidlack broke DC’s school record in the 500-meter dash, crossing the line in 69.16 seconds.

FINDLAY, Ohio – DC’s 2011 indoor track and field season got under way on Friday, when the Jackets took part in the Northwest Ohio Invitational in Findlay, Ohio. HCAC Preseason Runner-to-Watch, Justin Perkins, got off to a good start by breaking DC’s school record in the 3,000-meter run.

NEW ORLEANS – Eric Swartz and Brad Zarembski have each been named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III All-Academic Track and Field Team, the second consecutive season the two have earned the distinction.
