NORTH BEND, Ohio – Defiance College saved its best for last and turned in its lowest total of the four-round HCAC Championship on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets carded a 338 on the final day of competition, improving by 18 strokes over Friday’s score.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Defiance College men’s golf team shaved 11 strokes off its score in the second round of the HCAC Championship and climbed to within three shots of Hanover for seventh place in the team standings.

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The 2009 HCAC Men’s Golf Championship got underway on Saturday afternoon at the Hulman Links Golf Club. The eight teams will play single rounds on Saturday and Sunday, before concluding the four-round event at Aston Oaks Golf Club in North Bend, Ohio on May 1 and 2.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance wrapped up its 2009 Spring Invitation on Saturday at Kettenring Country Club and ended ninth at the 10-team event. The Jackets’ second-day total was eight shots better than Friday’s round but it was not enough to gain ground in the standings.

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Defiance College wrapped up the two-day, ten-team Mount St. Joseph Spring Invitational on Sunday, ending with a team total of 712 and a ninth-place finish. Jace Neal carded a two-round total of 166 to lead the Jackets with his 21st-place finish.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College men’s golf team closed out its 2008 fall campaign on Saturday when it hosted the DC Fall Open. The Jackets took two of the three top spots, with Jared James and Matt Haviland finishing second and third in the individual standings.

WAUSEON, Ohio – Defiance’s Jace Neal and Matt Haviland finished second and third in Tuesday’s Jon Speiss Memorial Men’s Golf Tournament. The high finishes lifted the Jackets to a fifth-place showing, just seven strokes off the lead.
