DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College volleyball program netted multiple honors at the 2010 Defiance College Purple and Gold Club’s 37th-Annual Spring Sports Banquet. Ashton Judis and Danyel Lipps, the squad’s only two seniors, were recognized for six awards collectively.

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its fall honorees for the Tom Bohlsen Academic All-HCAC Team. Defiance College saw 15 student-athletes make the list, raising its total by two from one year ago.

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference recently unveiled its 2009 award winners and all-conference team. Defiance placed three student-athletes on the All-HCAC team, with Danyel Lipps, Marlea Rolander and Sara Porter earning the honor.

BLUFFTON, Ohio – Sara Porter averaged 13.5 kills, 9.5 digs, 3.0 assists and 1.5 total blocks per match during Defiance College’s run to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals and has been selected to the seven-athlete HCAC All-Tournament Team.

BLUFFTON, Ohio – A strong 2009 season for the Defiance College volleyball team came to an end on Saturday night in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Semifinals. The fourth-seeded Jackets fell 25-15, 25-17, 23-25, 25-13 to the top-seeded Bluffton squad.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - DC held off the fifth-seeded Rose-Hulman Engineers in the opening round of HCAC on Saturday afternoon by a 25-20, 25-23, 20-25, 22-25, 15-11 score. The Jackets will now face top-seeded Bluffton at 7:00 pm with a trip to Sunday's championship match on the line.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The DC volleyball team posted a 21-10 record during the 2009 regular season for its first 20-win campaign since 2005. The Yellow Jackets will now look to carry that success over into the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, when it travels to Bluffton on Saturday.

N. MANCHESTER, Ind. – Defiance College blistered the Manchester defense on Thursday evening, en route to sweeping the Spartans for the team’s fifth-straight win. The Jackets posted a team hitting percentage of .418 and evened their record in HCAC play.

DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance College volleyball program has announced that its tri-match scheduled for Saturday, October 17 will now be a single match against Marygrove beginning at noon. The Jackets had originally been slated to play Marygrove at 10:00 am and then Wilmington in a 2:00 pm match.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Defiance College volleyball team picked up its first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory of the season on Saturday, with a 3-0 win at Transylvania. The Jackets also topped Cincinnati Clermont in straight sets in a non-conference contest.
