DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College women’s soccer program has posted the date for its College Prep Camp and has settled on April 6, 2013. Head coach Alex Van der Sluijs and the DC soccer staff and players will be instructing the camps.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Senior Defender Katie Heitkamp and junior forward Karly Smith have been placed on the 2012 NCAA Women's Division III All-Ohio Team by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association. Heitkamp was named as part of the Second-Team All-Ohio and Smith was placed on Third-Team All-Ohio.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance women’s soccer team finished the season with its best record since joining the HCAC and also its first winning season since 2004. Katie Heitkamp, Karly Smith, Bibiana Parra and Lindsay Bubnick were named to the All-HCAC team for their efforts in the extremely successful season.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College athletics department announced on Tuesday that it would install a synthetic field turf surface at Justin F. Coressel Stadium. The project is set to begin immediately and will be the latest in a string of upgrades to the athletics facilities at DC.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – It was a dominant performance by the visiting Hanover Panthers, as they came to play on a day that had playoff implications on the line. With both teams fighting for a spot in the conference tournament, the Panthers bested the DC women’s soccer team 3-0 on Saturday, October 27.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – In a tight matchup of arch rivals, the DC women’s soccer team came away with an important 1-0 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference win over the Bluffton Beavers on Wednesday, October 24. Sophomore Lindsay Bubnick nailed a beautiful shot off the back post for the game-winner.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Friday’s Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer match at home against Bluffton has been postponed. A the game has been moved to tomorrow Wednesday, October 24 with a start time of 2 p.m. The men's soccer match versus Bluffton will subsequently be moved to 4 p.m.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – A clutch 88th minute goal by junior Karly Smith tied the huge HCAC game at one and sent the match into extra minutes. But the Transylvania Pioneers would not be deterred and scored a game-winning goal in the 100th minute to defeat the DC women’s soccer team 2-1.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance women’s soccer team dominated its match with the visiting Anderson Ravens on Tuesday, October 16. The key 5-0 victory improved DC’s record to 8-4-4 and 3-1-2 in the HCAC, as the team makes a push for the conference tournament. The Ravens drop to 0-15 (0-6 HCAC).

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Sophomore Alicia Ledford scored a pair of goals for her first on the season, and the Defiance women’s soccer team cruised to a 2-0 victory over the Rose-Hulman Fightin’ Engineers on Saturday, October 6. DC improves to 7-3-3 on the year, while Rose drops to 6-5-2.

RICHMOND, Ind. – The Defiance women’s soccer team hung on for a 1-1 tie against the Earlham Quakers on Tuesday, October 2 thanks to a strong performance from goalie Claire Turner in HCAC play. The Jackets record holds steady at 6-3-3 (1-0-1 HCAC) with the Quakers going to 5-4-1 (1-0-1 HCAC).

Junior Karly Smith was the hero for the team, as she scored with less than three minutes left in the game to give the Jackets the 1-0 victory.

PONTIAC, Mich. – The Defiance women’s soccer team had a nice change of scenery from this weekend’s storm-delayed match, as it traveled up to Michigan and defeated the Rochester Warriors 1-0 on their indoor field. DC gets back on the winning track and improves to 5-3-2 with the victory.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – On an stormy day in Defiance, the DC women’s soccer team fell 3-0 to the Wilmington Quakers in a match that was delayed nearly two hours due to lightning. The loss halts the Jackets three game winning streak as they drop to 4-3-2.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – In a match that was even for 80 solid minutes, the DC women’s soccer team blew open the game with a trio of goals from the 83rd to 86th minute to defeat Heidelberg. The victory gives the squad its first three game winning streak since 2007 and Coach Van der Sluijs’s first in his career with DC.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The DC Lady Jackets soccer team never gave up and Erica Islas drilled a goal with 15 seconds remaining to tie the match at one apiece with Greenville. The game went through both OT's with no scores to end in a 1-to-1 tie. The draw brings both DC and Greenville to a 0-0-1 record to open the season.
