20 Questions With Tara Miller
1-When did you start playing golf? When I was younger. I would say around eight or nine years old.
2-What has been the highlight of your athletic career so far? When I was in high school, I played on the men's golf team. At one of the matches, almost every school in the county was around and I got a hole-in-one. I could hear all the guys talking about how ticked off they were because I was a girl and I got a hole-in-one.
3-What are your goals for the 2011 season? Just to finish the season. With all of my health problems, it can be a struggle to finish 18 holes.
4-Who is your funniest teammate? Me, duh. Just kidding, we all have our moments.
5-Do you have any nicknames? Several. Taradactle, T-Millz, T-Milli, Little T, T-Money, T-Baby.
6-What three words best describe you? Unpredictable, independent, personable.
7-What is your favorite restaurant? Ponderosa! They have the best croutons. Yum.
8-Who is your biggest hero? My parents. My dad worked hard for everything he has and really appreciates it all. My mom has been put through a lot with our family but she is always there for everyone, supporting them every step of the way.
9-Dream vacation spot? Anywhere with my good friends and family, where I can work on my tan and not worry about classes, homework, internships or any other cares in the world.
10-What is the top song currently on your iPod? "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites", by Skrillex.
11-Who was your childhood sports hero? Se Ri Pak. She is a female professional golfer who has won many tournaments. When I was younger, I always wanted to be in the Ladies Professional Golf Association like her.
12-Do you have any superstitions or pre-round routines? Oh yeah, ask Coach Rutter about this and he will laugh. Personally, I must have ChapStick in my left pocket for every tournament. As a team, we listen to "Hey Sexy Lady", by Shaggy before each match.
13-If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be? Any male, so I know what it feels like to be less fortunate!
14-What is your favorite TV show? The "Lopez Tonight" show.
15-What is something most people do not know about you? On the inside of my upper lip, I have a tattoo of a mustache.
16-What is your biggest fear? Losing an immediate family member, or a best friend.
17-Besides your own, what is your favorite sport to watch at Defiance? Men's golf. Those guys are my good friends.
18-What is your favorite class or professor at DC and why? Any class with Dr. Keith Christy. He has gotten me prepared for the real world.
19-What are your plans after graduating from DC? I ask myself that every day. I will let you know when I figure it out.
20-How has playing collegiate athletics at DC helped you in life? Playing on an athletics team has helped me prepare for the real world. It forces you to work on your time management skills, stay focused and learn to work and deal with people. I have also made so many teammates, best friends and sisters, who I will remain close with even after graduation.
