Aaron Fraley is one of two seniors on the DC cross country squad and is also set to be a four-year letterwinner for track.
Now is your chance to get to know Aaron Fraley away from the course, as we go beyond the box score with the senior harrier.
20 Questions With Aaron Fraley
1-When did you start running competitively? It was my freshman year of high school.
2-What has been the highlight of your athletic career so far? Highlight, how about highlights. The first would be the coaches and teammates I train with that have brought me to where I am athletically. Secondly, I would say the record I share with a great group of guys in the distance-medley relay, which was set at the All-Ohio Championships during the indoor season last year.
3-What are your goals for the remainder of the 2011 season? To help lead the cross country team to its greatest moment yet in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
4-Who is your funniest teammate? Hands down, Stevie Switz. That kid is priceless.
5-Do you have any nicknames? A-train.
6-What three words best describe you? Lead, believe, persevere.
7-What is your favorite restaurant? Chili's. The best chips and salsa ever!
8-Who is your biggest hero? This was by far the easiest question on here. My parents.
9-Dream vacation spot? I have never been on one, so I do not know.
10-What is the top song currently on your iPod? Ha, I do not own an iPod, but iTunes says it is "No Hands" by Waka Flocka Flame.
11-Who was your childhood sports hero? Dan Marino. Go Fins!
12-Do you have any superstitions or pre-race routines? Actually yes.
13-If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be? Galen Rupp for sure! The dude just went 26:48 in a 10k-race! Are you kidding me!
14-What is your favorite TV show? "Justified".
15-What is something most people do not know about you? I like it quiet.
16-What is your biggest fear? I do not really have one anymore, but when I was younger it was spiders.
17-Besides your own, what is your favorite sport to watch at Defiance? I like to cheer on the throwers at track and field events.
18-What is your favorite class or professor at DC and why? Dr. Nathan Griggs is awesome. No other person will ever educate me as much as that man has. Plus, he is honest and tells you straight up how it is.
19-What are your plans after graduating from DC? Not exactly sure but maybe graduate school, or taking a little time off for some traveling.
20-How has playing collegiate athletics at DC helped you in life? It has helped me carry the responsibilities of having a packed schedule and learn how to get everyone to work together as a whole. Being a captain on the cross country and track teams has definitely opened my eyes on how to work with others for a cause worth fighting for.
