Katie Carunchia is playing her third year of tennis with the Jackets, while in her first year as a graduate student at DC.

20 Questions With Katie Carunchia
1-When did you start playing tennis? Three years ago, as a junior at DC.
2-What has been the highlight of your athletic career so far? Playing the Purple and Gold game with the men's team.
3-What are your goals for the remainder of the 2011 season? To pick up another team victory.
4-Who is your funniest teammate? Collaboratively we are the funniest group of girls that you will ever meet.
5-Do you have any nicknames? Crunch.
6-What three words best describe you? Loud, determined, competitive.
7-What is your favorite restaurant? Bubba Gump Shrimp
8-Who is your biggest hero? My mother.
9-Dream vacation spot? Hawaii.
10-What is the top song currently on your iPod? "Motivation" by Kelly Rowland.
11-Who was your childhood sports hero? Reggie Miller.
12-Do you have any superstitions or pre-match routines? No.
13-If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be? Rachel Zoe.
14-What is your favorite TV show? It is a tie between "Kendra" and "Keeping Up with the Kardashians".
15-What is something most people do not know about you? I grew up as a cattle farmer.
16-What is your biggest fear? Not reaching my lifetime goals and not using all that I have worked for.
17-Besides your own, what is your favorite sport to watch at Defiance? Basketball.
18-What is your favorite class or professor at DC and why? Dr. Mike Wolfe is my campus dad and mentor, Dr. Wayne Buchanan is my campus grandpa and mentor and Dr. Doug Knueve is my campus uncle and mentor.
19-What are your plans after graduating from DC? I graduated in May with my bachelor's degree in marketing and will complete the one year MBA program in May from Defiance. I hope to take a job in event planning, administrative higher education, or 4-H Extension.
20-How has playing collegiate athletics at DC helped you in life? It has taught me how to deal with different challenges in my life from relationships to knee surgery, which is critical as a young person to grow and mature.
