20 Questions With Dani Chadwick

1-When did you start playing soccer? I started playing soccer when I was about four years old in Perrysburg.

2-What has been the highlight of your athletic career so far? So far it would have to be not ending early due to an injury. It was a really close call this year and I thought my soccer career was going to be over but thankfully it is not. Just being able to play is a highlight to me.

3-What are your goals for the remainder of the 2011 season? My goals for the remainder of the season are to win the rest of the games and make it into the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, try not to get injured the rest of the season and to beat Transylvania!

4-Who is your funniest teammate? I would have to say that my funniest teammate would probably be Alex Johnson. Ever since our freshman year, she definitely has been the funniest teammate. There is never a practice that is boring or quiet.

5-Do you have any nicknames? Yes, I have many. Dani, Dan, DanDan, D. I am sure there are more.

6-What three words best describe you? Clumsy, outgoing, dedicated.

7-What is your favorite restaurant? Probably McDonald's. It is just so convenient.

8-Who is your biggest hero? My biggest hero is definitely my dad. He is the reason I even came to college and his hard work and drive for his family is something that I could never dream of having.

9-Dream vacation spot? I would have to say anywhere that is warm and stays warm.

10-What is the top song currently on your iPod? "Man in the Mirror", by Michael Jackson.

11-Who was your childhood sports hero? My childhood sports hero was definitely Mia Hamm. I wanted to be just like her when I was younger.

12-Do you have any superstitions or pre-match routines? Yes, I have many. I listen to the same song on repeat during warmups and when we run out on the field, Jordanne Buehrer and I have a hand shake.

13-If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be? It would definitely be with an animal, so I could see what goes on from their point of view.

14-What is your favorite TV show? My favorite shows are "Animal Cops", "Ellen" and "Pretty Little Liars".

15-What is something most people do not know about you? That I absolutely hate to run. I love the game of soccer but I hate running.

16-What is your biggest fear? Snakes! I absolutely hate snakes!

17-Besides your own, what is your favorite sport to watch at Defiance? I like to watch the men's soccer team play. It is actually a lot different than when the women play. It is just so much faster and more physical.

18-What is your favorite class or professor at DC and why? My favorite class is probably Principles of Coaching. My favorite teacher is Randi Lydum. She is one of the main reasons that I will actually succeed.

19-What are your plans after graduating from DC? I plan on attending school to hopefully become a Veterinary Technician.

20-How has playing collegiate athletics at DC helped you in life? I would have never had the drive or motivation to be successful in the classroom if it was not for Coach Van der Sluijs and Coach Jensen harping on me about grades every day. I could never ask for a better group of coaches and for better teams over the last four years. I have made friends that I will never forget and that I will always be there for. Since the beginning of my freshman year until now, Alex Johnson, Jordanne Buehrer and I will always be close and never forget DC soccer and everything that it has done for us. I never thought a group of coaches and a sport could help me grow so much as a person.
