20 Questions With Phoenix Golnick

1-When did you start playing golf? I started playing golf my freshman year of high school.
 
2-What has been the highlight of your athletic career so far? The highlight of my athletic career would have to be when Kelly Beard and I were on the all-tournament team at the Jon Spiess Memorial during our sophomore year. 
 
3-What are your goals for the 2012 season? Of course I want to do well but most of all, I just want to have fun. It is my last year and I would like to enjoy it.
 
4-Who is your funniest teammate? I do not think I could pick one person. The team would not be the same if any one of us was not on it. We have a lot of fun.
 
5-Do you have any nicknames? Nothing exciting. Sometimes people call me Phoe.
 
6-What three words best describe you? Giggly, short, sarcastic. 
 
7-What is your favorite restaurant? Any place that has nachos or ice cream.
 
8-Who is your biggest hero? My biggest heroes are my grandmas. They are super.
 
9-Dream vacation spot? I do not even know. I would just really like a vacation.
 
10-What is the top song currently on your iPod? Probably something Dave Matthews or Ben Folds.
 
11-Who was your childhood sports hero? I can barely remember what I did yesterday. I am sure I had one and I am sure they were awesome but I do not remember.
 
12-Do you have any superstitions or pre-round routines? Well I always have to put my left sock on, then my right sock and then my left shoe and then my right shoe but that is for every day and not just for golf. If I do not do it that way, my whole day is just bad.
 
13-If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be? I would probably trade places with one of my dogs. I would really like to do nothing for a day.
 
14-What is your favorite TV show? I like "Big Bang Theory" and "Criminal Minds."
 
15-What is something most people do not know about you? I would say a lot of people do not know that my family breeds chocolate labs. I love puppies.
 
16-What is your biggest fear? Probably disappointing the people that I care about the most.
 
17-Besides your own, what is your favorite sport to watch at Defiance? When we do not have golf, I like to watch the football games.
 
18-What is your favorite class or professor at DC and why? I love Dr. Nathan Griggs. He is crazy. 
 
19-What are your plans after graduating from DC? I plan on getting my master's degree at Toledo or Bowling Green in ecology or nursing.
 
20-How has playing collegiate athletics at DC helped you in life? I have met some of my best friends that I will have for the rest of my life on this team.
