Katie Heitkamp is a two-time All-HCAC performer on the DC soccer squad and was named All-Ohio as a junior.

20 Questions With Katie  Heitkamp

1-When did you start playing soccer? In the third grade.
 
2-What has been the highlight of your athletic career so far? Scoring a goal off a semi-bicycle kick. 
 
3-What are your goals for the 2012 season? Make it to the conference tournament.
 
4-Who is your funniest teammate? Kim Bingley because during our warmup laps we can entertain each other so easily. "Vroom Vroom!"
 
5-Do you have any nicknames? Katie-did.
 
6-What three words best describe you? Hardworking, honest, dedicated.
 
7-What is your favorite restaurant? Buffalo Wild Wings.
 
8-Who is your biggest hero? My mom because she is always there for anyone who needs her. She is very unselfish.
 
9-Dream vacation spot? Hawaii, or anywhere with beaches and shopping.
 
10-What is the top song currently on your iPod? "Kryptonite," by 3 Doors Down.
 
11-Who was your childhood sports hero? Mia Hamm.
 
12-Do you have any superstitions or pre-match routines? This year it is getting Flexall massaged on my legs during pregame.
 
13-If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be? I would trade places with Angelina Jolie because she is an amazing actress, mom and world supporter. And because of Brad Pitt of course.
 
14-What is your favorite TV show? Right now its "Pretty Little Liars" but "Big Bang Theory" is a very close second.
 
15-What is something most people do not know about you? I have a younger sister who could pass as my twin and an older sister who looks nothing like us.
 
16-What is your biggest fear? Spiders.
 
17-Besides your own, what is your favorite sport to watch at Defiance? Basketball.
 
18-What is your favorite class or professor at DC and why? My favorite class was team work and team building with Dr. Mike Wolfe because we never had a boring day of class.
 
19-What are your plans after graduating from DC? Work for a professional sports team. The Cincinnati Reds is my dream job.
 
20-How has playing collegiate athletics at DC helped you in life? It has helped me gain some leadership ability from being voted captain.
