GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its spring honorees for the Tom Bohlsen Academic All-HCAC Team, with Defiance placing 18 student-athletes on the list for the third-highest tally within the league.

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Yellow Jacket softball program had four of its players recognized by the HCAC for their strong performances during the 2012 season. Katie Miller, Aubrie Ridinger, Jordan Sawmiller, Macy Ferrall and Stephanie Esquibel were all voted onto the teams by the HCAC coaches.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College softball program capped Senior Day with a two-run rally in the bottom of the seventh of Sunday’s second game against Rose-Hulman. DC sealed the comeback with a two-run double by Jordan Sawmiller for the 4-3 win, after falling by a 1-0 margin in the opener.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The DC softball team managed to score three runs in each of its two games in Monday’s doubleheader against Denison University. The three runs were not enough in either contest, as the Big Red defeated the Jackets by scores of 7-3 and 5-3.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Yellow Jacket softball team hosted Adrian University in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs’ pitching stifled the Defiance bats for much of the afternoon and won by scores of 7-0 and 4-2.

MANCHESTER, Ind. –The DC softball team travelled to Manchester College for a pivotal Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference showdown. The Yellow Jackets lost both games of the series. Defiance lost game one by a score of 5-1 and game two by a final of 5-0.
