GREENWOOD, Ind. – The HCAC honored five DC softball members Wednesday, May 8 with its all-conference selections. Katie Miller, Macy Ferrall, Maggie Neanen, Brittany Shough and Alli Rowland were all voted to the All-HCAC teams by the head coaches in the conference.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The DC softball team ended its season on a high note Wednesday, May 1, as the Jackets swept the Heidelberg Student Princes by scores of 10-0 and 3-2. The highlight of the afternoon was freshman Alli Rowland pitching a no-hitter in the first tilt for DC's first since 2009.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – In a non-conference doubleheader between two evenly matched squads, the Yellow Jacket softball team won game one against the Olivet Comets 6-5, but fell in the second 9-8 in nine innings. The Purple and Gold’s record moved to 14-22 on the season, while Olivet now sits at 11-21.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance softball team dropped its final two HCAC contests of 2013 on Monday, April 26. The Manchester Spartans earned the conference season title with the sweep by scores of 5-2 and 6-4. DC falls to 13-21 (6-10 HCAC), while Manchester improved to 19-13 (11-3 HCAC).

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College softball team played its heart out on Senior Day, but a seventh-inning error in game two gave the game-winning run to the Transylvania Pioneers in a Saturday split. The Purple and Gold won the first tilt 5-1, while Transy took the second 2-1.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – With rain in the forecast for Lexington, Ky. tomorrow Saturday, April 27, the doubleheader between the Yellow Jackets and the Transylvania Pioneers has been moved to be played at Sal Hanch Field in Defiance. Also, the game will now be senior day for the squad.

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Defiance College softball team was bested in non-conference action on Monday, April 22. The Adrian Bulldogs defeated the Jackets in both contests by scores of 10-2 and 9-1. DC’s record falls to 12-18 on the season, while the Bulldogs improve to 11-15.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Due to scheduling conflicts, the Purple and Gold softball team's matchup with the Oberlin Yeowomen has been cancelled and will not be made up this season. DC continues play this afternoon against the Adrian Bulldogs and will be home tomorrow, April 23 for Senior Day against Manchester.

FRANKLIN, Ind. – The DC softball team was able to take one of two from the Franklin Grizzlies on Saturday, April 20. The Jackets were the home team in the two contests but were played at Franklin due to a water-logged Sal-Hench Field. Defiance won the first tilt 4-0, but fell in the second 8-2.

GRANVILLE, Ohio – The Defiance softball team began its stretch of eight games in five days on April 18. However, the start was not one that DC was hoping for, as it was shutout 6-0 and 1-0 in the doubleheader with the Denison Big Red. The Jackets fall to 11-15, while Denison bumps up to 17-11.

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Defiance College softball team held on for a tight 6-5 win in the first game of its doubleheader with the Mount St. Joseph Lions and then cruised to 8-0 victory in the second. The sweep improves the Yellow Jackets record to 11-13 (4-6 HCAC), while MSJ falls to 4-18 (1-7 HCAC).

BLUFFTON, Ohio – One day after earning a huge win over the No.5 team in Div. III, DC softball was battered by the rival Bluffton Beavers in HCAC action on April 4. The Beavers topped DC by scores of 11-9 and 12-4 on the afternoon and improved their record to 13-11 (5-1 HCAC), while the Jackets fell to 9-11 (2-4 HCAC).

The win marked the first time in head coach Jodie Holava's tenure that the Jackets had defeated a ranked opponent.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – After a rough finish that led to a 5-3 loss in the first game of a doubleheader against Hanover, the DC softball team responded with a 9-4 victory in the second tilt to break even on Saturday, March 30. DC stays at .500 with an 8-8 (2-2 HCAC) mark, while Hanover goes to 6-10 (1-1 HCAC).

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The DC softball team kicked off HCAC action, when it topped the Rose 6-5 in nine innings during the first game of a doubleheader. It then fell 5-4 in eight frames during the second on Saturday, March 23. The Jackets go to 7-5 (1-1 HCAC) on the season, while Rose moves to 5-9 (1-1 HCAC).

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – It was a fantastic final day in the sunshine state, as head coach Jodie Holava moved into the top spot on DC's All-Time Wins list, when the Yellow Jacket softball team topped the Lakeland Muskies 2-1 and the Sage Gators 8-6. Holava now leads the list with 160 career victories.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – It was a tough day for the DC softball team on its second-to-last day of competition down at the Rebel Spring Games. The Jackets surrendered two runs in the sixth and fell 2-1 to Wheaton and then were defeated 9-1 by Mount Union in the second. DC's record now stands at an even 4-4.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – It was day three of action for the Jackets softball team down in sunny Florida, as they fell 6-2 in their first matchup with Montclair State who is the NCAA No. 1 ranked team for Div. III. However, the team bounced right back with a solid 9-1 five-inning victory over Albion to put its record at 4-2.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Defiance College softball squad moved to 3-1 on the season after it defeated the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets 8-6 in eight innings and fell to the Bridgewater Eagles 4-0. Waynesburg dropped to 1-2 with the loss, while Bridgewater improved to 5-2 with the victory over DC.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Lady Jacket softball team started off the season on the right foot with a pair of run-rule victories in their first day of the competition at the Rebel Spring Games on Sunday, March 10. In DC's first matchup, it defeated Roger Williams 9-1 and then took down Fitchburg State 12-2 in the second.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Defiance College softball team was honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for its excellence in the classroom for the 2011-12 academic year. The Jackets posted a cumulative team grade point average of 3.19 naming them a NFCA Div. III All-Academic Team.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College softball team continued its longstanding tradition of volunteering and making an impact in the community by working at the Special Olympics Regional Softball Tournament this past weekend. Twenty players and coaches totaled 110 hours of work at the event.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College softball team will be hosting a fall league available to all players between the grades of nine and 12. The league is set to begin in the month of September and run through the end of October. The league will be held at Sal Hench Field on the DC campus.
