Men's Basketball Picked Seventh in Preseason Poll

GREENWOOD, IND. -- The Defiance College men's basketball team was picked to finish in the seventh position in the preseason Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference poll, which was released on Wednesday afternoon.

The Purple & Gold had 33 total points and finished ahead of Franklin, Bluffton and Earlham.

Hanover is the preseason favorite entering the season, with nine of the 10 possible first place votes. Mount St. Joseph was picked to place second and grabbed the other vote to win the HCAC title. Transylvania, Rose-Hulman, Anderson, and Manchester round out the top six.

The DC men's basketball team opens the 2017-18 campaign with a home matchup against Ohio Mid-Western College  on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m., while HCAC play will tip off on Monday, Nov. 27 with a road trip against Manchester.
