Women's Basketball Picked Ninth in Preseason Poll

RICHMOND, IND. - The Defiance College women's basketball team was selected ninth in the 10 team Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference preseason poll released on Tuesday afternoon.

Rose-Hulman was the favorite as they claimed the first place spot with 96 points and seven first place votes, followed by Transylvania with 89 points and two first place votes.

The Yellow Jackets tallied 29 points in the poll to finish ninth, just ahead of Anderson University.

Defiance finished the 2017-18 season 7-18 overall, 5-13 HCAC finishing ninth overall.

The Purple and Gold will open the 2018-19 season on Tuesday November 13 when they welcome Albion to the Karl H. Weaner Center. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
