Memmer and Tilman Earn Academic All-Ohio Honors

DEFIANCE, OHIO  --  Defiance College women's soccer players Kassie Memmer (Bowling Green) and Katie Tilman (Miami, Fla./LaSalle) have been named to the Academic All-Ohio Teams by the Ohio Soccer Coaches Association.  [2016 Academic All-OSCA Teams]

Memmer was named second-team Academic All-OSCA with a 3.37 grade point average in athletic training.  To be eligible to be named Academic All-Ohio, candidates must maintain a minimum of a 3.20 gpa.

Memmer led the team in scoring this past season with four goals and two assists, finishing with 10 points. Memmer also led the team in shots (28) and shots on goal (19). Memmer's season was highlighted with a hat trick in Defiance's 8-1 home victory against Bluffton University on Oct. 5.  Memmer moved into the DC top-ten all-time list in goals (12), assists (five), and points (29) with her performance through three seasons.

Tilman garnered third-team Academic All-OSCA accolades with a 3.62 gpa as a criminal justice major.

Tilman started in eight of the team's 15 games at the midfield position as a senior. Tilman was second on the team with three goals and also added an assist for seven total points. Tilman took 13 shots with six of them being on net. Her defensive presence also helped the Yellow Jackets to a pair of victories where DC gave up just one goal.
