DEFIANCE, Ohio – For the tenth year in a row the Defiance College volleyball team will host the DC Invitational. The Yellow Jackets will be joined by Concordia, Huntington, Marygrove and Siena Heights in the round-robin tournament on Friday and Saturday.

Defiance went 3-1 in last year’s DC Invitational, claiming the championship with a four-set win against Albion. Danyel Lipps and Heather Bradshaw were each named to the Scotty’s Club 111 All-Tournament Team, with Bradshaw being voted as the Best Defensive Player.

This year’s field will be paced by Concordia (7-4) and Defiance (2-3), as the two teams figure to compete for the championship, while Huntington (2-4), Siena Heights (1-4) and Marygrove (0-8) could each play a major factor in the weekend action.

All 10 matches will be played inside of the varsity gym at Defiance’s Karl H. Weaner Community Center, beginning at 3:00 pm on Friday and 10:00 am on Saturday. Defiance will play Siena Heights in the first match of the invitational, before closing Friday’s action against Huntington at 7:00 pm. DC will then play Concordia at noon and Marygrove at 2:00 pm on Saturday.
