DEFIANCE, Ohio – As part of an ongoing attempt by Defiance College and its athletics program to have a lasting impact on the community, the Defiance College volleyball team recently took a day out of its preseason schedule to assist with a Special Olympics Softball Tournament in Archbold, Ohio.

The Yellow Jackets have previously volunteered to assist the city of Defiance with renovation work at Kids’ Creation playground. The team has also worked with a number of other agencies and organizations throughout the years, including the Family Justice Center and Defiance City Schools.

During the 2009-2010 academic year, student-athletes from Defiance College logged nearly 2,500 combined hours of service in the Defiance community and around the country.
