ADA, Ohio – The Defiance College volleyball team fell in the final two matches of the Ohio Northern University Invitational. In game one, the Yellow Jackets lost to No. 12 Heidelberg, 3-0 (14-25, 12-25, 15-25). In game two, the Jackets dropped a hard-fought match against Thiel, 3-2 (26-28, 22-25, 25-16, 25-18, 12-15.)

Sophomore right side hitter Chelsea Ludeman led DC in game one with seven kills. Freshman Alicia Kalik provided 16 assists in the attack and also added two blocks on the defensive end. Sophomore outside hitter Christa Seidenstricker paced the defense with six digs, and sophomore middle blocker Alexis Pierce provided two blocks.

In the second game, Ludeman again paced the Jackets with 14 kills, and also led the team with 19 digs. Kalik directed the offense with a team-best 33 assists. Senior middle blocker Marlea Rolander posted 10 total blocks to lead the squad.

Defiance College will return to action on Friday, September 9th, when it takes the court against Concordia University at 3:00 pm in the opening match of the DC Invitational.
