DANVILLE, Ky. – The Defiance College volleyball team wrapped up the Centre College Tournament with a perfect 4-0 mark after picking up wins against Centre and Fisk on day two of the event. The Jackets beat Centre, 3-0 (25-12, 25-23, 25-17), and defeated Fisk, 3-0 (25-11, 25-10, 25-15).

In the first match of the day, the Yellow Jackets were led by senior Marlea Rolander. Rolander paced DC with a team-best 12 kills and five blocks. Freshman Alicia Kalik posted 30 assists for the attack, and sophomore Christa Seidenstricker gave the Jackets a boost on defense with 18 digs.

Against Fisk, DC was led by freshman Stephanie Wilson’s team-high effort of seven kills and five digs. Freshman Alyssa Turton set a career-high with 16 assists. At the net, Rolander, senior Michelle Sikora and sophomore Alexis Pierce all had three blocks to shut down Fisk’s offense.

With the pair of victories, the Yellow Jackets improve to 7-5 on the year.

The next action for Defiance is on Wednesday, September 21st, when the Jackets play host to Manchester College in the first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match of the season. Start time is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
