DEFIANCE, Ohio – Head Coach Dic Doumanian recently sat down with the voices of the Yellow Jackets Sports Network, Jim Funderburg and Jim Bellamy, to review the 2009-2010 campaign for the DC women’s basketball team. The Jackets went 17-10 behind a 12-2 home record and advanced to the HCAC Tournament Semifinals.

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced its winter honorees for the Tom Bohlsen Academic All-HCAC Team. Defiance College placed two student-athletes on the list to raise its 2009-2010 total to 17 entering the spring seasons.

Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference released its 2010 All-HCAC selections
on Wednesday, March 3. Defiance College’s Mandie White and Shavonda Price both received
the All-HCAC nod, with DC’s Tasha Stucke receiving an All-HCAC Honorable Mention.

FRANKLIN, Ind. - A strong 2009-2010 season came to a close for the Defiance College women's basketball team on Friday night, as the Jackets saw the top-seeded Franklin Grizzlies rally in the final minute to take the 58-52 win. Lady Jackets have already gone further than any other DC women’s basketball
team since the 2003-04 squad, which got bounced from the HCAC Tourney in the
semifinals by Anderson. They will attempt to take it one step
further on Friday in a semifinal showdown with Franklin
College.

Lady Jackets completed the season sweep of Manchester on Tuesday night,
defeating the Spartans, 83-70, in the opening round of the HCAC Tournament. The victory means Defiance will advance to the
semifinal game in Franklin, Ind., where they will face the top-seeded
Grizzlies.

The Lady Jackets will host Manchester on Tuesday in
the opening round of the HCAC Tournament. Fans are encouraged to wear all white
in a show of support for the Jackets as they try to knock off the Spartans,
which is only fitting as DC prepares to bid farewell to its senior star Mandie
White.

FRANKLIN, Ind. – The
Lady Jackets wrapped up the 2009-10 regular season on Saturday, losing in a
67-62 decision at Franklin College (19-6, 13-3 HCAC). DC will enter the HCAC
Tournament as the number four seed, meaning they will host the number five seed,
Manchester University, on Tuesday.

BLUFFTON, Ohio – The
Lady Jackets were handed their first road loss since January 6th on Wednesday
night, falling 96-91, in an overtime decision at Bluffton University (8-16,
5-11 HCAC). With the loss, Defiance drops into the fourth seed in the HCAC as
the final week of the regular season approaches.

Lady Jackets got a big win on Saturday, knocking off Mount St. Joseph, 81-68, while
taking the first of three-straight road games to close out the regular season. Defiance
improves to 16-7 with the win, and 10-4 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic
Conference.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Jackets' seven-game winning streak ended on Saturday, as
they dropped an 88-80 decision to Transylvania. The loss marks
the first time since December 2nd that Defiance has came up short at home, and
drops the Jackets into a tie with Hanover for third place in the HCAC.

Lady Jackets outlasted Hanover on Saturday, downing their HCAC rival, 85-74, to
improve their conference winning streak to six straight. The win gives DC

showed great resiliency on Wednesday night, pulling out a thrilling, 77-68, overtime
win on the road in a crucial conference game against Anderson. The win moves
the Yellow Jackets (13-6, 7-3 HCAC) into a tie with Hanover for third place in

Lady Jackets got off to a slow start at Rose-Hulman on Saturday, but turned
things around in the second half to claim a, 61-42, victory. Defiance has now won
four consecutive conference competitions and sits just one game out of first
place in the HCAC.

night, defeating Bluffton University, 83-71, to improve to 5-3 in HCAC competition. Defiance claims the second best conference record with the victory and has now won 10 of 11 home games

Lady Jackets won the fifth annual Hubbard Co. – Pro Rehab tournament on
Saturday, defeating Wilmington College, 70-62, to take their third tournament title in five attempts. The team is now 7-4 on the season and has won three consecutive games for the first time since 2007.

member of the Lady Jackets’ coaching staff. Oakland will serve as a graduate
assistant for the Lady Jackets while pursuing a master’s degree in business
