DEFIANCE, Ohio – Head DC women’s basketball coach, Craig McCord, and the Lady Jackets basketball staff have released plans for a basketball clinic in late October, and a fall basketball league in November, to be held on campus in Defiance College’s Weaner Center Gymnasium.

The basketball clinic will take place on Saturday, October 29, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, and is open to boys and girls in grades one through nine. Participants will have a chance to work with the camp staff on numerous individual skills, and receive personalized instruction on fundamental basketball techniques in an up-beat and encouraging environment. Campers will also be provided with an opportunity to showcase their skills at the Hot Shot shooting station.

The fall league will be held on the first-three Sundays in November, and run from 2:00 through 4:00 p.m. Each day will be divided into a one-hour session of stations and drills for individual skills instruction, followed by an hour-long session of five-on-five games in which campers can practice their skills in a game-like atmosphere. Five-on-five teams will be constructed according to campers’ grade level by the staff.

Coach McCord and assistant women’s basketball coach, Nikki Oakland, headline the camp staff. Other staff members will include members of the current Lady Jackets basketball squad.

Campers will receive a five-dollar discount for signing-up in advance, and a ten-dollar discount for registering for both the clinic and the league. The camp brochure and registration form can be downloaded by clicking the link above, or by visiting the defianceathletics.com camps page.
