DEFIANCE, Ohio - The floor inside the 84,000-square foot George M. Smart Athletic Center is installed and the lines were finished Thursday. The Smart Fitness Center will be moved in and open inside the facility as the Buchman Fitness Center on February 13, with the entire facility projected to be open by late February.

OBERLIN, Ohio – Defiance College senior Ellen Stryffeler posted a school-record time of 23:26.40 to lead the Yellow Jackets at the NCAA Regional Championships held at Oberlin College.

ANDERSON, Ind. – Defiance College senior Ellen Stryffeler was named All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference  after leading DC at the HCAC Championships with a third-place overall finish.

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Defiance College women’s cross country team was led by senior Ellen Stryffeler at the Wilmington Invitational. Stryffeler finished 38th in the 241-runner field with a time of 20:01.63.

CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Ellen Stryffeler and Brianna Rodriguez set the pace for the Defiance College women’s cross country team at the All-Ohio Championships, hosted by Cedarville University. The women’s team finished 38th overall in a field featuring teams across all NCAA divisions.

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Defiance College senior Ellen Stryffeler was named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Runner of the Week for the second time this season, after pacing the Jackets at the Penn State-Behrend Invitational.

ERIE, Pa. – Senior Ellen Stryffeler and sophomore Kate Busto both finished in the top ten at the Penn State Behrend Invitational to help  the Defiance women’s cross country team to a fifth-place overall finish.
