WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Defiance College women’s soccer team dropped its fourth straight game on Saturday evening when it was defeated by Wilmington College by a score of 4-0. The loss drops the Yellow Jackets to 1-5 on the season.

The scoring woes continue for DC as they were shutout once again. Both teams were scoreless through the first 20 minutes of the game, and then Wilmington was able to get on the scoreboard.

Wilmington tallied its first goal when Ashley Garcia played in Sarah Watters who beat her defender and scored for the game’s first goal. Neither team found the back of the net for the rest of the half, and the Yellow Jackets trailed by a score of 1-0 at the break. Wilmington held a 16-6 shot advantage over Defiance.

Things went from bad to worse for the Jackets in half number two, as Defiance conceded three more goals. Two of the three goals were scored from set pieces.

Defiance is next in action on Tuesday, September 20 as it hosts Rochester College at 4:00 p.m. at Matthew Winsper-Knobel Memorial Field.
