Boleyn Posts Pair of First Place Finishes in Franklin Meet

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Lady Yellow Jackets’ swimming and diving team hosted their second meet of the year on Saturday. DC’s first year program was defeated by Franklin College by a score of 142-85. Despite the loss, DC had a few standout performances from its young freshmen. The Jackets’ 400 yard freestyle relay team consisting of Emilee Boleyn, Alicia Hoopingarner, Jacqueline Loock and Chelsea Bell claimed first place with a time of 4:25.74. The DC relay team defeated Franklin by nearly 15 seconds. Individually Boleyn was the star of the meet for the Yellow Jackets. She was victorious in the 100 and 200 yard backstroke. Her 100 yard time was 1:04.92 and she won the 200 with a time of 2:22.97. Boleyn won the 200 by more than 25 seconds. Other standouts for DC were Hoopingarner, Loock and diver LaRacia McCollins. Hoopingarner won the 100 yard freestyle race with a time of 1:03.70 and placed second in the 100 yard butterfly. Loock obtained a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:10.38. The Lady Jackets won its first ever diving event when McCollins scored 120.40 points to secure first place in the one-meter dive. DC is back in action on Friday, November 11 when it hosts Baldwin-Wallace. The meet is set to begin at 6 p.m. |
