DC’s Emilee Boleyn Earns OAC Swimmer of the Week Honors
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Defiance College freshman swimmer Emilee Boleyn was recognized on Monday receiving Ohio Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week honors. This is the first time any DC athlete in the swimming and diving program has received the award. Boleyn had an impressive weekend in the pool claiming four first-place finishes in two meets. On Friday evening against OAC opponent Baldwin-Wallace, the freshman won the individual 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.09 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 57.26. Boleyn shifted gears from Friday to Saturday swimming the backstroke in the meet at Saint Mary’s. Boleyn competed in and won the 100-yard backstroke and the 200-yard backstroke events with times of 1:03.57 and 2:21.35 respectively. Boleyn and the rest of the Yellow Jackets’ swimming and diving team will be back in the water on Saturday, November 19 when they travel to Hiram College. The meet is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. |
