ADA, Ohio – The Lady Yellow Jackets’ swimming and diving team traveled to Ada, Ohio on Saturday for their second Ohio Athletic Conference meet of the season. DC raced against Ohio Northern, who is a powerhouse in swimming.

The Jackets were handily defeated by the Polar Bears. The overall meet score finished at 224-52. Even though the Purple and Gold were defeated, there was a bright spot on the afternoon. Freshman swimmer Emilee Boleyn continued her spectacular season against great competition.

Boleyn claimed first place in two events on Saturday. The freshman won both the 50-yard backstroke and the 100-yard backstroke events. In the 50-yard backstroke Boleyn’s final time was 29.01 seconds, her best of the season. Boleyn also posted a career best in the 100 with a time of 1:01.79. The freshman also finished second in the 50-yard freestyle.

Defiance is now on a month long hiatus for the holiday season. The Yellow Jackets are next in the pool on January 14, 2012 when the team travels to Wooster. The meet is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
