Yellow Jackets Come Up Winless at Wooster

WOOSTER, Ohio – The Lady Yellow Jackets’ swimming and diving team traveled to Wooster, Ohio on Saturday for a tri-meet against Ohio Wesleyan and Wooster. The shorthanded DC squad fell to each team on the afternoon. For the first time all season, no individual Yellow Jacket was able to record a victory in any event, although Defiance did turn in some respectable performances on the day. The relay teams in the 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle each placed fourth for Defiance with times of 2:08.12 and 1:54.86 respectively. Freshman Emilee Boleyn turned in the best finish for the Purple and Gold with a second place finish in the 50-yard freestyle. Boleyn finished with a time of 25.71 seconds, missing her personal best of 25.70. Another noteworthy performance came from freshman Jacqueline Loock, who finished fourth in her both the 1,000-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle. She recorded her personal best times in each event. Defiance returns to the pool in two weeks when it travels to Franklin, Ind. for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference meet. |
