Boleyn Propels Jackets to Third Place Finish at HCAC Invite

FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Defiance College women’s swimming team traveled to Franklin College to compete in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets finished the invite with 96 total points and a third place finish.

The Purple and Gold was led by standout freshman Emilee Boleyn on the day. Boleyn finished first in every event that she participated in at the invitational. The freshman recorded victories in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.17, the 50-yard freestyle with a mark of 25.57 and the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:08.33.

The other event in which Boleyn finished first was a team effort. DC’s 400-yard freestyle relay team finished in 4:28.50, beating second place Franklin College by over 15 seconds. Team members included the aforementioned Boleyn, freshman Chelsea Bell, freshman Miranda Behner and freshman Alicia Hoopingarner.

Another notable Yellow Jacket performer was freshman Jacqueline Loock, who tallied a pair of second place finishes in the 100-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle with times of 58.39 and 2:10.17 respectively.

DC wraps up its season at the OAC Championships. The championships begin on Thursday, February 16 and end on Saturday February 18. The event will take place in Akron, Ohio.
