Jackets Compete at Malone College Meet

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The team of sophomores Jacqueline Loock and Emilee Boleyn with freshman Savannah Marquez and Eme Miller combined to grab the top spot in the women’s 400 yard freestyle relay. It was the best finish on the day for the Defiance College swimming and diving team. For the women’s results, Miller had the best outing on the afternoon. Along with registering the second fastest time in the first-place relay team, she notched second and third place finishes in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:18.84) and 500 yard freestyle (5:49.78), respectively. In the breaststroke, the freshman came close to the number one spot, but missed it by less than one second. Also performing well at the meet was Boleyn. The returning sophomore swimmer placed third in both of her individual events. For the 50 yard free, Boleyn scored a 26.16 and in the 100 yard backstroke, she came in with a time of 1:06.85. For the DC men’s swimming, freshman Braden Perry competed in the 100, 200 and 500 free events on the day. Fellow freshman Adam Dunbar swam in the 50 free and 100 free. The Yellow Jackets competed against the Malone College Pioneers and Mount Union Purple Raiders at the meet. Defiance will return home tomorrow Saturday, October 27 for its second and final home meet of the season. Urbana College and Ursuline College will be competing at the meet with Ursuline partaking only in the women’s events. Action will start at 1 p.m.
